Wonder Bar

Last night I stopped at Wonder Bar on my way home. Now, there are dozens of Wonder Bars out there. But, I'm going to tell you the story of this one.

This Wonder Bar originally opened in 1922. It was in continuous operation by the same family until 2014.  It closed for a year, and then, a new local family revived a great hang out and reopened in in July of 2015.  While I was there, I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner, Frank. After a lengthy (6 months or so) renovation, Frank prepared to reopen....shortly after buying the place he discovered awesome old architectural details awaiting some TLC.

Frank said the morning they were to open, he and his staff were busy getting prepared...no big deal... when one of his staff told him to look outside. It was 10:30am, and they were planning to open at 11am. When he looked, he saw a line down the block-- people were waiting in line to be some of the first to revisit a piece of Worcester's history and be part of the new, continued history. It remained that way for months, lines down the block before opening.

Those are the first $4.00 that Frank earned after reopening.

Here are some of Frank's happy customers:

Here are some of the food and beverage offerings:

I'll be back... I heard that the lasagna is a delicious family recipe.
So, it's got a lot going for it... good atmosphere, history, food, and people.
What else do you need?
