Agave-Brushed Salmon w/ Craisins and Onions
Let me introduce you to: Salmon brushed with agave, topped with craisins and onions. This delectable combination was paired with cheese tortellini and broccoli. Yes, I still had carrots and parsnips, but I didn't want you to boycott a dinner you because you were 'parsnipped-out"....
Sole-ful Sunday
Today I bring you, Sole-ful Sunday. I chose a classic --Ina Garten's Sole Meuniere Recipe. As you know, I usually try to use ingredients I have around for a complement to the fish-dish. Today that consisted of parsnips, carrots, onions, garlic, pearled couscous, scallions, and arugula. I roasted the veggies together with garlic in the oven, cooked the pearled couscous on the stove top and then tossed it all together with the arugula and scallions and a little dill. Once the fish was done, I laid that on top, and viola! The presentation is a bit messy this time but none-the-less, delicious!

Woot-Worthy Steak w/ Chimichurri Sauce and Gourmet Veggie Hash
I'm switching it up-steak! Not to worry, tomorrow I'll be making fish. I'm still on track to keep my New Year's resolution and have not missed a week of eating fish.
I made a thin steak, marinated in garlic, balsamic vinaigrette. Tenderized by my mallet, seared on each side, and then finished in the oven. The chimichurri is a classic parsley-based chopped herb delight (which included lemon, white balsamic, olive oil, etc). I plated it over a roasted veggie hash of mandolin-ed brussel sprouts, parsnips, carrots, and white onion simmered with garlic, olive oil, and white wine; and I topped it with a rich red-wine-and-balsamic-vinegar reduction.

Cliche Breakfast & Wild Turkeys
Okay, I had a cliche breakfast in the "big city" on Friday, a classic Dunkin' Donuts breakfast sandwich and great but over priced Starbucks Coffee. I had a meeting for an event I was planning and it called for a trip into Boston.
On my way home (back in Worcester), I was confronted with the wild turkeys that live by UMMS.

Flying Rhino
Okay, I was busy collecting posts, but I'm back!
Thursday I visited the Flying Rhino. Lack luster white wine list, but I found something acceptable. The red was a bit better, but I just wasn't in the mood. It was restaurant week, and as you will see below, they had 3-course offerings at a VERY specific, unusual, price. I stuck withe regular menu and ordered a short-rib sandwich with goat cheese, caramelized onions, pickled tomato, and arugula. It was delicious and I devoured every bite. Except I did remove half of the tomatoes. I also included some pictures of the ambiance.

Minnesota Super Tuesday
"Minnesota Republicans say they set a record for turnout in Tuesday's precinct caucuses. Spokeswoman Katie Boyd says the party has counted 79,000 participants so far with only about 70 percent of results in. She says that is 15,000 more than in the record year of 2008."
Thank you, Minnesotans for not letting Trump win your (our) state. And for having record turn out!
While not a Republican (and have never been a registered voter in MN since I haven't lived there since I was 18), I am happy to be a Minnesotan by birth, and see that my fellow Minnesotans didn't vote in large enough numbers that Trump some how seems to represent the values of our state (I hope that Michele Bachmann was a decision that they regretted).
I'm a little surprised that Sanders won by such a large margin, but good job in being progressive! I like the message you're sending to the country: Most of us don't vote for rude, crazy, divisive people and we want a more progressive future (health care and education for all!!). Massachusetts, this should be your message too...(about Trump, at the very least).
And what the h*ll is wrong with Chris Christie? Is he vying for VP? That's all I can think of people supporting Trump that used to be running for President. Well, that's not true. As a non-Republican,I think a lot of things about the other Republican candidates and their supporters....and I have my opinions about the Democrats, too. I have lots of opinions about everything, haha.
