Miscellaneous Monday

It's Presidents' Day! Thanks for being a great President, Barak Obama.

Today I did a little driving around Worcester-- thought it might be good idea to continue to get more familiar with my surroundings.  I only managed to get in one photo... Holy Cross was one of the places I went and there was a bizarre amount of traffic on campus so I skiddadled pretty fast.

And then I went shopping at the Solomon Pond Mall (Marlborough, about 20 minutes away):

But before that made breakfast (and ate it):

Oat-nut toast, with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, a fried egg, a slice of bacon and some scallions. Yum.

And, here's dinner from last night:

Broiled haddock over quinoa with pineapple, corn, red pepper, kale, and black beans.
Healthy, for heart day =) (aka, Valentine's Day).

Tonight I'm having pizza left over from Friday.

Brunch on Valentine's Day

Crepes have been one of my favorite Sunday Brunch items for a while. I lean to the savory side with my crepe preferences. Valentine's Day is traditionally thought as more of a day for sweets, most people wouldn't say I'm a traditionalist, so, viola, savory crepes for me!

My sunny-side up egg is overcast (intentionally), with tab of lemon-cheesy butter, a dash of salt & pepper, and a smattering of scallions over arugula, pea-mint puree (if you've got it, use it, right?) and a crepe lightly stuffed with the same and a tid-bit of bacon.

Some Comedy for Me

Friday night called for some comedy for me.  It's cold so I ordered some hot pizza...it was delicious and the perfect compliment to my Friday night line up.

First up: Women Who Kill (Includes Amy Schumer)... made me laugh when I needed it.

Aziz Ansari... just one of the many bits from one of his appearances/performances in Madison Square Garden. Also, I just finished season one of Master of None. Awesome series. Love it.

And finally, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Erin from The Office). Pretty good.

Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich, with Arugula

Okay, here's my Thursday dinner! I've decided to try to incorporate more vegetarian meals into my diet along with the fish. Breakfast is easy (for me, anyway). So, I'm not counting breakfast...only lunches and dinners will count in this endeavor.  So, I made an eggplant parmesan sandwich. Breaded (baked, not fried) eggplant compliments of Trader Joe's (well, I bought it...it wasn't free).
